Programme Assistant – UN Women (Tripoli, Libya)

About the role

The Programme Assistant supports the Head of Programmes and the Programme Team in delivering UN Women’s gender‑equality initiatives in Libya. The role combines administrative, logistical and financial tasks to ensure smooth programme implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide administrative and logistical support for programme formulation, work‑plan preparation, budgeting and proposal development.
• Track delivery of funds, support partners in routine delivery and reporting of programme activities and finances.
• Assist with programme audits and implement audit recommendations.
• Identify sources, gather data and compile information for documents, guidelines, speeches and position papers.
• Support financial management: create projects in the Quantum system, prepare budget revisions, revise project awards, determine unutilised funds and close projects.
• Monitor and prepare budget reports and financial statements for the Programme Unit.

Required profile

• Ability to work closely with the Programme Team and external partners.
• Strong organisational and analytical capabilities for handling programme data and documentation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Quantum financial management system.
