Chef de Cuisine – Arabic & Mediterranean Cuisine

About the role

AlMawel Tourism Services and Investment is seeking an experienced Chef de Cuisine to lead its Arabic and Mediterranean kitchen in Benghazi. You will be responsible for creating authentic and contemporary dishes while ensuring the highest standards of quality, presentation, and guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Plan menus and develop recipes that reflect traditional and modern Arabic and Mediterranean flavors.
• Supervise food preparation, plating, and portion control to maintain consistency.
• Manage inventory, order supplies, and monitor food costs to optimize budgets.
• Enforce hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards in line with local regulations.
• Train, mentor, and schedule kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and high‑performing team.
• Coordinate with front‑of‑house teams to ensure smooth service flow.
• Collect and act on guest feedback to continuously improve the culinary offering.

Required profile

• Extensive expertise in Arabic and Mediterranean cuisine, including traditional recipes and modern variations.
• Proven leadership experience in a high‑volume or upscale restaurant environment.
• Strong organizational and time‑management abilities, especially during peak periods.
• Formal culinary education or equivalent professional experience; formal training is a plus.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Prior experience as a Chef de Cuisine, Sous Chef, or similar senior kitchen role.
