Geoscience Data Manager

About the role

We are looking for a senior Geoscience Data Manager to join our team on a full‑time, one‑year contract in Libya. The role supports the National Oil Corporation by establishing corporate‑wide standards, validation, and integration of subsurface and geophysical data across multiple platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Standardize, validate and integrate seismic, well and interpretation datasets across DSG, OpenWorks and other platforms.
• Govern data at a corporate level, enforce data standards and implement master data management practices.
• Resolve spatial inconsistencies and validate Coordinate Reference Systems (CRS) across concessions.
• Design and execute large‑scale data loading, quality‑control, migration and integration workflows.
• Oversee data security, access control and compliance with confidentiality regulations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to produce data‑governance documentation and reports.
• Mentor internal staff and deliver training to build data‑management capabilities.

Required profile

• Libyan national currently residing in Libya.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in subsurface data management or geoscience.
• Degree in Geoscience, Geophysics, Geology or a related technical discipline.
• Proven expertise managing seismic, well and interpretation datasets.
• Strong understanding of CRS identification, validation and transformation.
• Experience with corporate‑level data governance, data standards and cross‑company harmonisation.
• Demonstrated ability to lead data loading, QC, migration and integration at scale.
• Solid knowledge of data security, confidentiality and regulatory compliance.
