Protection Assistant - Child Protection

About the role

DRC is seeking a Protection Assistant – Child Protection to support learning‑through‑play initiatives and child protection services for children in Tripoli. The role works under the Protection Team Leader and Protection Officer to implement Child Friendly Spaces, case management and educator coaching.

Key responsibilities

• Implement learning‑through‑play initiatives in selected educational services following DRC’s Child Protection Policy and standards.
• Provide coaching and support to educators and facilitate group and community‑based child protection activities.
• Facilitate participatory dialogues with children and communities to identify protection concerns.
• Ensure accurate reporting, data confidentiality and use of DRC reporting tools.
• Collaborate with MEAL teams for monitoring, evaluation and feedback.
• Represent DRC to beneficiaries, teachers, local authorities and other humanitarian actors.
• Support coordination of logistics, administration, finance or security as needed.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and promote safety, dignity and protection standards.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of professional experience in humanitarian interventions, preferably child protection.
• Experience with child‑friendly spaces, community‑based approaches or school settings.
• Familiarity with international protection and human‑rights legal standards and CP Minimum Standards.
• University degree in Education, Social Sciences, Psychology, Community Development, Humanitarian Affairs or related field.
• Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and good working knowledge of English.
• Strong cultural awareness and willingness to work with vulnerable migrants and refugees.
