Senior Accountant – Construction & Odoo ERP

About the role

Shield Enmaa Contracting is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team in Benghazi. The role focuses on managing the accounting function for construction projects and supporting the implementation and use of the Odoo ERP system.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain full-cycle accounting, including receivables, payables, and general ledger entries.
• Prepare and analyse financial reports, project costing, and cost‑center performance.
• Oversee construction‑specific accounting tasks such as progress billing, subcontractor payments, and material cost tracking.
• Support Odoo ERP configuration, data migration, and ongoing system optimisation.
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate cost allocation and financial forecasting.
• Utilise Microsoft Excel for detailed financial modelling and data analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of general accounting experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in the construction industry.
• Hands‑on experience with Odoo ERP; prior involvement in Odoo implementation is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction accounting, project costing, cost centres, and financial reporting.
• Responsible, flexible, and able to take ownership of accounting responsibilities.
