Accounting Manager – Agriculture Sector

About the role

The Accounting Manager will lead the company's accounting and financial functions within the agricultural sector. This senior position ensures accurate financial reporting, robust controls, and insightful analysis to support strategic decisions and sustain profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, and general ledger.
• Supervise and develop the accounting team to maintain high performance and accuracy.
• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Develop budgets, forecasts, and financial plans; monitor variances.
• Control operational and agricultural production costs, including crop and farm cost analysis.
• Handle inventory accounting and ensure accurate valuation.
• Maintain fixed‑asset and agricultural‑asset registers.
• Plan cash flow and manage liquidity requirements.
• Design and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial legislation.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors.

Required profile

• Significant experience in accounting management, preferably within agribusiness or farming operations.
• Strong understanding of agricultural cost accounting, inventory management, and financial reporting.
• Proven ability to lead a team and drive process improvements.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
