About the role
The Danish Refugee Council is seeking an experienced Area Manager to lead and coordinate its programmes in Tripolitania, Libya. The role involves overseeing programme implementation, representing DRC with key stakeholders, and ensuring the safety of staff and assets.
Key responsibilities
- Represent DRC as the primary contact in Tripolitania, participating in senior management meetings and external forums.
- Manage and coordinate area staff, fostering inter‑departmental collaboration and results‑oriented performance.
- Adapt DRC’s national strategy to the local context, guiding programme development and fundraising inputs.
- Maintain relationships with government authorities, donors, NGOs, UN agencies and community leaders.
- Ensure compliance with DRC security frameworks and safeguard staff, beneficiaries and assets.
Required profile
- Proven experience in managing humanitarian or development programmes in a complex environment.
- Strong leadership and team‑building capabilities, including capacity‑building and staff development planning.
- Excellent coordination skills with government, donor and partner organisations.
- Ability to analyse contextual and humanitarian trends to inform proposals and safety assessments.
