Application Engineer – Services Specialist

About the role

The Applications Engineer partners with service delivery and sales teams to design and execute well‑construction and production solutions for Baker Hughes clients. You will ensure compliance with the Manage the Job Cycle process, assess application hazards, and develop risk‑mitigation plans that meet client objectives while maximizing revenue.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Service Delivery Coordinators and sales personnel to understand client goals and commercial terms.
• Perform offset‑job analysis, engineering modelling, and hazard assessments for products and services.
• Design job programs, including risk mitigation and contingency plans, and communicate any risks to clients.
• Document calculations, simulations, and plan revisions for audit and visibility.
• Provide on‑demand technical support during job execution and compare planned versus executed outcomes.
• Participate in field incident investigations, root‑cause analysis, and corrective‑action implementation.
• Advise on product improvements and support sales with application recommendations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
• 10+ years of applications engineering experience, including 5+ years at Baker Hughes.
• Proven ability to present to experienced peers and mentor cross‑functional teams.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
• Willingness to be on‑call outside normal business hours and travel to rig sites or customer facilities.
