Associate – Energy and Infrastructure

About the role

Eltumi Partners is seeking a dynamic commercial lawyer to join its growing team as an Associate focusing on energy and infrastructure matters. The role offers exposure to both contentious and non‑contentious legal work for major corporate clients in Libya, with opportunities for professional development and mentorship.

Key responsibilities

• Research and draft legal advice, reports and memoranda on corporate, commercial, energy and labour law issues.
• Participate in client meetings and negotiations, representing the firm’s interests.
• Appear before local courts to advocate for clients in relevant cases.
• Coordinate filings and submissions with Libyan authorities such as the Ministry of Economy, Commercial Registry, Labour Office and Audit Bureau.
• Handle additional legal and administrative tasks as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in law from a leading Libyan university (private university graduates not considered).
• Master’s degree in law from a reputable foreign university (preferred but not mandatory).
• 2–6 years of relevant experience in private practice or in‑house, either in Libya or abroad.
• Registered attorney with the Libyan Bar Association, with rights of audience in First Instance Courts.
• Fluent written and spoken English and excellent command of Arabic.
