Country Team Coordinator – Central Mediterranean Route Programme (Libya)

About the role

The Country Team Coordinator will support UNICEF's Child Protection & Education section in Tripoli by providing coordination, technical, and facilitative assistance for the Central Mediterranean Route Programme. Working remotely with occasional travel, the consultant will help implement the joint IOM‑UNICEF Global Programme and ensure effective stakeholder engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate coordination mechanisms and multi‑stakeholder initiatives across UN agencies, NGOs, and government counterparts.
• Organise and support regional and national workshops, meetings, and consultative convenings.
• Manage knowledge‑sharing processes, documentation, and reporting, including drafting programme documents and joint reports.
• Conduct desk reviews, mapping, and analysis of migration and child‑protection practices, gaps, and needs.
• Assist in developing costed national action plans and fulfilling donor reporting requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Social Sciences, Migration Studies, Development Studies, Public Administration, International Development or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in programme coordination, migration, child protection, humanitarian or development programming.
• Proven experience coordinating multi‑stakeholder or inter‑agency initiatives and organising workshops or regional convenings.
• Strong report‑writing, documentation and communication abilities.
• Experience working with UN agencies, NGOs, government counterparts and international partners.

Required skills

• Knowledge of child protection, migration, mixed migration, refugee and migrant protection, and humanitarian programming.
• Understanding of inter‑agency coordination mechanisms and multi‑sectoral programme implementation.
