Health Manager

About the role

The Health Manager will lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of International Medical Corps' health programmes in Libya. Working across Benghazi and Kufra, the role ensures that health services meet national guidelines, international standards, and IMC policies while supporting facility capacity and workforce development.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical and operational oversight for all IMC health activities, ensuring alignment with approved workplans, budgets, and standards.
• Coordinate implementation across supported locations, monitor service quality, and address gaps through corrective actions.
• Lead health facility assessments, prioritize needs, and develop interventions to strengthen service delivery.
• Ensure patient registration, referral, follow‑up, and continuity‑of‑care processes are in place.
• Support infection prevention and control, healthcare waste management, and other patient‑safety measures.
• Monitor epidemiological trends, prepare for disease outbreaks, and communicate alerts to management.
• Supervise health staff, provide day‑to‑day guidance, and facilitate capacity‑building activities.
• Represent IMC with health authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, and co‑lead health coordination mechanisms.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing health programmes in humanitarian or low‑resource settings.
• Strong knowledge of national health guidelines, international standards, and public health principles.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills with government and partner agencies.
• Ability to supervise multidisciplinary teams and drive capacity‑strengthening initiatives.
