Protection Assistant – Child Friendly Space Facilitator

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council seeks a Protection Assistant to facilitate Child Friendly Spaces (CFS) in Tripoli, Libya. The role supports the delivery of child protection services, including psychosocial activities, awareness‑raising, and early identification of children at risk.

Key responsibilities

• Organise daily creative, educational and recreational activities for children of varying ages, genders and abilities.
• Design and implement structured and unstructured psychosocial support sessions.
• Support community events, conduct sensitisation and mobilisation on child protection issues.
• Identify vulnerable children (unaccompanied, separated or at risk) and refer them to case‑management teams.
• Facilitate group‑based protection activities following DRC technical guidance.
• Ensure compliance with DRC Child Safeguarding Policy and maintain data confidentiality.
• Collaborate with MEAL teams for monitoring and reporting using provided tools.

Required profile

• Experience working with children in protection or psychosocial programmes.
• Knowledge of child safeguarding standards and referral mechanisms.
• Ability to engage diverse groups, respecting age, gender and vulnerability criteria.
• Willingness to participate in trainings and apply technical feedback.
