System Security Engineer – IT

About the role

Libyan Islamic Bank is looking for a System Security Engineer to join its Information Technology team. You will be responsible for protecting servers and operating systems, ensuring the stability of critical infrastructure, and supporting business continuity across the bank’s digital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain system security controls in line with industry best practices.
• Perform system hardening for Windows and Linux platforms.
• Monitor, test and apply security patches and system updates regularly.
• Manage user access rights, permissions and audit logs.
• Review system configurations to ensure compliance with security policies.
• Administer backup operations, verify integrity and support recovery processes.
• Respond to security incidents, assist investigations and apply remediation measures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in system security or a related cybersecurity role.
• Hands‑on experience with Windows and Linux administration.
• Strong analytical abilities to assess and respond to security incidents.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
