Junior Network Engineer

About the role

Modern Systems & Technology is looking for a motivated Junior Network Engineer to join its on‑site team in Tripoli. You will support the design, configuration, monitoring and maintenance of the company’s network infrastructure while gaining hands‑on experience under senior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of routers, switches, firewalls and wireless devices.
• Monitor network performance, availability and security alerts using diagnostic tools.
• Provide Tier 1 technical support for connectivity and performance issues, escalating complex incidents as needed.
• Maintain up‑to‑date network documentation and assist in scheduled maintenance activities.
• Participate in client projects and follow established procedures and standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Network Engineering or a related field (fresh graduates welcome).
• Hands‑on experience in a lab, internship or project using physical or virtual network equipment (GNS3, EVE‑NG, Packet Tracer).
• Strong analytical thinking and ability to work under pressure during outages.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for documentation and team collaboration.

Required skills

• Understanding of OSI model, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and NAT.
• Familiarity with Cisco IOS, FortiOS, Juniper Junos or Aruba AOS command‑line interfaces.
• Knowledge of network security best practices, including SSL/IPsec VPNs and intrusion‑prevention.
• Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
