Operations Assistant – Charter Movements

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking an Operations Assistant to support charter movement activities in Tripoli. Working under the Deputy Chief of Mission and the Operations Officer, you will help ensure that migration programmes are implemented smoothly and on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the operations team in planning and executing charter movements in compliance with IOM procedures.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to movement operations.
• Coordinate with internal and external partners to ensure timely and orderly programme delivery.
• Support the preparation of reports and updates for senior staff.

Required profile

• Secondary (high‑school) education with at least five years of relevant work experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with at least three years of experience.
• Prior experience in movement operations or transportation is strongly preferred.
• Fluency in English (oral and written) is mandatory.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong internet and general computer skills.
• Familiarity with movement‑operations databases and systems such as iGATOR, MiMOSA, SAR and Amadeus (advantageous).
