Senior Finance Manager

About the role

The Senior Finance Manager is accountable for the integrity of financial reporting, ensuring accurate profit and loss and balance sheet information is delivered to the Finance Director. This role also shapes financial strategy through research and advises senior executives on both short‑term and long‑term business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all financial activities, guaranteeing accuracy, integrity and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Lead financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis, providing insights to senior management.
• Manage preparation of financial statements, management reports and disclosures, ensuring timely delivery to stakeholders.
• Develop and enforce financial policies, procedures and internal controls to protect assets and mitigate risks.
• Provide financial guidance to department heads and project managers for cost analysis and resource allocation.
• Maintain relationships with auditors, tax authorities and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.
• Drive implementation of financial systems and technologies to improve efficiency and transparency.
• Lead strategic projects such as mergers and acquisitions, capital raising and process improvements.
• Conduct financial risk assessments and devise mitigation strategies for currency, interest‑rate and credit risks.
• Mentor and develop finance team members, fostering their growth and effectiveness.

Required profile

• Advanced knowledge of financial principles, accounting, financial analysis and management.
• Strong analytical skills for interpreting data, conducting variance analysis and identifying trends.
• Proficiency in financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent leadership and communication abilities to manage teams and present information to senior management.
• Experience in financial planning, budgeting and forecasting to support strategic decision‑making.
