Artificial Lift Systems Field Operator

About the role

Baker Hughes is seeking an experienced Field Operator to support Artificial Lift Systems in Benghazi. You will install, commission, and maintain Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) equipment while ensuring safety and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Install, dismantle and commission ESP systems using switchboards and variable speed drives.
• Provide cable services including spooling, banding, and power cable management for ESP installations.
• Conduct field analysis, troubleshoot ESPs and downhole sensors, and deliver recommendations to customers.
• Perform equipment lay‑downs, complete required paperwork, and oversee daily operational issues.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of electrical field experience in the oil & gas industry.
• Valid B1 driver’s license and ability to safely operate a company vehicle.
• Strong HSE awareness and a customer‑service oriented mindset.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Benghazi.

Required skills

• Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) installation and commissioning.
• Switchboard operation and Variable Speed Drive (VSD) control.
• Cable spooling, banding, and power cable handling for ESP systems.
• Troubleshooting ESP equipment and downhole sensor diagnostics.
