Design Office Manager – Libya Project

About the role
We are seeking a Design Office Manager to lead the design process for a large‑scale superstructure project in Libya. The role involves overseeing outsourced design consultants, ensuring interdisciplinary coordination, and delivering constructible designs on schedule and within budget.
Key responsibilities
- Manage all design activities (architectural, structural, MEP) and monitor outsourced consultants.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary interfaces and resolve design clashes.
- Plan and control shop‑drawing production, technical reviews, and approval processes.
- Oversee material submittal, verification, and approval with employer and consultants.
- Monitor BIM processes, conduct clash detection, and extract BIM outputs for quantity take‑offs.
- Track design changes, perform value engineering, and propose cost‑effective alternatives.
- Ensure constructability, integrate site feedback, and provide timely solutions during construction.
- Prepare design progress reports and lead technical coordination meetings with stakeholders.
Required profile
- Degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
- 12–15 years of experience in design/project office roles on large‑scale superstructure projects.
- Proven experience managing outsourced design teams and interdisciplinary coordination.
Required skills
- BIM modelling and clash detection.
- Shop‑drawing preparation and technical review.
- Design coordination across architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.
- Material submittal and approval processes.
- Change management and value engineering.
- Construction documentation and as‑built drawing preparation.
