Digital Drilling Engineer

About the role

The Digital Drilling Engineer (DDE) drives the implementation, adoption and support of digital drilling solutions such as DrillPlan, DrillOps and related data projects. Acting as the primary technical advisor, the DDE ensures customers extract maximum value from these tools while guiding them through change‑management processes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead deployment and customer onboarding for DrillPlan, DrillOps and drilling data initiatives.
• Provide technical and drilling expertise to end‑users, delivering defined project outcomes.
• Capture enhancement ideas and relay them to the digital product organization.
• Serve as the first point of contact, establishing trusted advisor relationships with customers.
• Advise Sales & Commercial teams on technical requirements and bid clarifications.
• Perform technical analysis of past wells to assess potential value of digital solutions.
• Participate in workflow optimisation discussions, market segmentation, and technology gap analysis.
• Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery.
• Lead performance reviews with customers and promote cross‑domain solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in drilling engineering or digital oilfield technologies.
• Proven ability to manage customer relationships and drive adoption of digital tools.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with technical project delivery.
