About the role
The Disaster Preparedness (DP) ECHO Project Coordinator will support the implementation of the Libya component of the ECHO‑funded disaster preparedness and anticipatory action project. Working closely with the Libyan Red Crescent Society (LRCS) and IFRC, the role strengthens capacity to anticipate, prepare for and respond to multi‑hazard risks.
Key responsibilities
- Translate project proposals, logframes and budgets into practical implementation plans, monitor progress, risks and corrective actions.
- Coordinate with Norwegian Red Cross finance, logistics, grants and technical teams to ensure compliant procurement, monitoring and reporting.
- Provide technical support for contingency planning, early warning systems, Operations Rooms, community preparedness simulations and Cash‑in‑Emergency readiness.
- Facilitate cross‑country coordination with IFRC regional offices and focal points in Egypt and Morocco, promoting harmonised planning, monitoring and knowledge exchange.
Required profile
- University degree in Disaster Risk Management, Humanitarian Action, Climate/Environmental Studies, Public Health or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum five years of professional experience, including at least three years in disaster preparedness, anticipatory action or related humanitarian programming.
- Fluency in Arabic and professional proficiency in English.
- Demonstrated experience in project coordination, results‑based management and donor reporting.
