About the role
The International Rescue Committee is seeking a senior Field Coordinator to lead its health‑related emergency response in the eastern and southern regions of Libya (including Al Kufra). The role oversees all programme centres, ensuring that interventions are efficient, comprehensive and of high quality for vulnerable populations.
Key responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and coordination for IRC programmes in East and South Libya.
- Manage programme centres, supervising staff and resources to achieve coverage and quality targets.
- Ensure effective implementation of health, protection and governance activities in line with IRC standards.
- Collaborate with Libyan national and local health authorities, the Ministry of Health and other humanitarian actors.
- Strengthen management capacity, accountability and transparency at the District Health Office level.
- Engage communities to promote health‑seeking behaviours and adapt services to local needs.
Required profile
- Extensive senior‑level experience managing emergency and refugee programmes.
- Proven track record in health‑related humanitarian interventions.
- Strong leadership and coordination skills in complex, crisis‑affected environments.
- Ability to work closely with government ministries, UN agencies and NGOs.
