About the role
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a qualified General Practitioner to join its health team in Al Kufra, Libya. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality primary and emergency care to vulnerable populations in remote, underserved areas.
Key responsibilities
- Provide primary healthcare services, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of communicable and non‑communicable diseases.
- Stabilize critical cases, perform triage, and deliver emergency and critical care according to patient‑safety standards.
- Manage chronic illness follow‑up and ensure continuity of care.
- Adhere to infection‑prevention protocols, clinical guidelines, and national health standards.
- Support rational use of essential medicines and medical supplies.
- Maintain functionality and proper use of basic diagnostic and medical equipment.
Required profile
- Medical degree with valid license to practice as a General Practitioner.
- Experience in primary care and emergency/critical care settings.
- Ability to work in remote, resource‑limited environments.
- Commitment to humanitarian principles and collaboration with local Ministry of Health staff.
