General Practitioner – Pediatric (Brak Alshatie)

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a qualified General Practitioner specialized in pediatrics to join its health team in Brak Alshatie, Libya. Working under the supervision of the Health Manager, you will deliver essential primary health care to children, including those under five years of age, in hard‑to‑reach communities affected by conflict and natural disasters.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and treat patients, focusing on primary health care for children under five.
• Ensure vaccination services are provided to all communities served by selected health facilities.
• Deliver daily curative services for general diseases at detention centers, IDP camps, and primary health‑care centers.
• Refer severe cases to specialized providers and coordinate referrals to secondary facilities.
• Provide first‑aid, emergency medical services, triage, and support rescue‑at‑sea operations as needed.

Required profile

• Licensed medical doctor with the right to practice in Libya or an internationally recognized qualification.
• Experience delivering primary health care to children, especially those under five years old.
• Ability to work in humanitarian settings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
