About the role
The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Officer – Maternity Cover will support the effective monitoring and evaluation of programmes that protect and promote the safety, rights and agency of IDPs, migrants, refugees and other vulnerable groups in Libya. The role involves data collection, analysis, tool design, and ensuring accountability mechanisms are functional throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct field data collection using surveys, focus groups, interviews and training questionnaires.
- Gather and analyse feedback from beneficiaries and community stakeholders to assess activity outcomes.
- Design, translate and maintain M&E tools and the DRC Beneficiary Complaints and Feedback Mechanism.
- Update the programme indicator performance tracker monthly and ensure adherence to monitoring schedules and reporting deadlines.
- Draft work plans, monitoring reports and contribute to donor reporting as required.
- Support learning documentation, capture lessons learned and facilitate links between M&E and programme teams.
- Perform operational support tasks related to administration, finance and logistics in line with DRC policies.
Required profile
- Minimum two years of M&E experience with an INGO or humanitarian NGO.
- Knowledge of the Core Humanitarian Standard and ability to travel for field visits.
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, public health, research methods or a related field.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic.
- Demonstrated self‑motivation, organisational skills and capacity to manage time and work plans.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
- Experience using survey and/or database software for data collection and analysis.
