Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Manager

About the role

The Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Manager will lead International Medical Corps' MHPSS programming across Libya. Working closely with national partners, government focal points and internal teams, the manager ensures the delivery of high‑quality mental health services and supports the development of sustainable referral pathways.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage all MHPSS activities at the country level, ensuring alignment with IMC and global standards.
• Supervise the MHPSS team, conduct performance reviews, and facilitate professional development.
• Maintain regular communication with the Program Director, Country Director and other senior staff.
• Oversee legal and contractual compliance in partnership with Grants and Contracts Management.
• Provide technical guidance for trainings, supervision and the revision of national mental health treatment protocols.
• Represent IMC MHPSS in national stakeholder meetings and with key government officials.
• Conduct field visits for monitoring, evaluation, capacity building and quality assurance.
• Coordinate procurement, distribution and monitoring of psychotropic medications.
• Support the establishment and maintenance of MHPSS referral pathways with NGOs and external providers.
• Lead monitoring and evaluation activities, develop tools, and ensure timely reporting.
• Manage the MHPSS budget in collaboration with the finance department.
• Collaborate with Health, MNH/VAWG and Nutrition teams for integrated service delivery.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing MHPSS programs in humanitarian or development settings.
• Strong leadership and team‑building abilities.
• Excellent coordination skills with national partners and government agencies.
• Knowledge of mental health treatment protocols and psychotropic medication management.
• Ability to oversee budgeting, procurement and reporting processes.
• Fluency in English; Arabic proficiency is an asset.
