Movement Operations Coordinator (P‑3) – Libya

About the role

The Movement Operations Coordinator will support IOM’s Libya Country Office in delivering safe, orderly, and compliant migration movements. Reporting to the Chief of Mission and supervised by the Deputy Chief, the role provides technical and supervisory oversight for resettlement, voluntary humanitarian return, staff travel, and emergency response operations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor all movement operations activities, ensuring alignment with IOM’s Resettlement and Movement Management Division (RMM) guidelines and SOPs.
• Supervise Operations Unit staff, delivering capacity‑building and technical guidance.
• Manage the use of in‑house applications MiMOSA and iGATOR, and the AMADEUS reservation system.
• Develop and maintain liaison with Libyan authorities (e.g., DCIM) and diplomatic missions of third‑country nationals.
• Verify that all movements are implemented in accordance with IOM policies and relevant legal frameworks.

Required profile

• Experience in coordinating migration, resettlement, or humanitarian return projects.
• Familiarity with UN‑agency operational standards and movement management procedures.
• Ability to supervise a multidisciplinary team and work closely with government and diplomatic partners.
