About the role
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is seeking a Program Officer based in Benghazi to support the Libyan Red Crescent Society (LRCS) as it transitions from emergency response to sustainable health programmes. The incumbent will work closely with LRCS branches and national society partners to implement, monitor and report on health interventions in rural and remote areas.
Key responsibilities
- Assist LRCS in planning and rolling out health services targeting vulnerable populations.
- Coordinate with national society branches and sub‑national stakeholders to ensure timely implementation of programmes.
- Monitor programme performance, collect data and prepare regular reports to meet transparency and reporting commitments.
- Facilitate collaboration and information sharing among LRCS branches to improve efficiency.
- Support the development of systematic approaches for coordination, collaboration and cooperation within LRCS health programmes.
Required profile
- Experience in humanitarian or health programme management, preferably within Red Cross/Red Crescent contexts.
- Strong understanding of health service delivery in rural or remote settings.
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders at national and sub‑national levels.
- Commitment to the fundamental principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
