Protection Assistant – Child Protection – Case Management

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council is seeking a Protection Assistant to support its Child Protection programme in Tripoli. The role focuses on case management, psychosocial support and referral coordination for children at risk of exploitation, violence or abuse.

Key responsibilities

• Implement child protection case management in line with DRC policies, Libya‑specific SOPs and Minimum Standards.
• Provide direct psychosocial support services and facilitate referrals to specialised services.
• Maintain confidentiality, enter and analyse case data, and ensure accurate use of DRC’s online tools.
• Support the creation and safe operation of Child Friendly Spaces and community‑based protection mechanisms.
• Participate in trainings, supervision sessions and incorporate technical guidance into daily work.
• Use participatory approaches to identify protection concerns and promote community dialogue.

Required profile

• Experience or education in child protection, social work, humanitarian assistance or a related field.
• Understanding of protection standards, child safeguarding and referral pathways.
• Ability to work in a multicultural, high‑pressure environment.
• Strong commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards.

Required skills

• Data entry and basic analysis.
• Use of case management tools and online platforms.
• Participatory facilitation techniques.
