Protection Assistant – Child Protection

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council seeks a Protection Assistant to support child protection services in Tripoli. The role focuses on implementing learning‑through‑play initiatives, safeguarding children from exploitation, and strengthening community‑based protection mechanisms.

Key responsibilities

• Implement learning‑through‑play initiatives in selected educational services in line with DRC’s Child Protection Policy and Minimum Standards.
• Provide coaching and support to educators, facilitating group and community‑based child protection activities.
• Coordinate reporting, ensure data confidentiality, and collaborate with MEAL teams for monitoring and evaluation.
• Represent DRC with beneficiaries, teachers, local authorities and other humanitarian actors, maintaining professional standards and transparent communication.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of professional experience in humanitarian interventions, preferably in child protection.
• University degree in Education, Social Sciences, Psychology, Community Development, Humanitarian Affairs or a related field.
• Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and good working knowledge of English.
• Strong cultural awareness, field‑oriented attitude and ability to work with vulnerable migrants and refugees.

Required skills

• Basic use of MS Office applications.
• Familiarity with international protection and human‑rights legal standards and Child Protection Minimum Standards.
