Design Office Manager – Libya Project

About the role

We are seeking a Design Office Manager to lead the design process for a large‑scale, high‑standard superstructure project in Libya. The role oversees all design disciplines, coordinates outsourced consultants, and ensures that design outputs are constructible and aligned with project schedules and budgets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage overall design activities (architectural, structural, MEP) and monitor outsourced consultants.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary design outputs and resolve clashes.
• Plan and control shop drawing production, technical review, and approval processes.
• Oversee material submittal, verification, and approval with employer and consultant.
• Monitor BIM processes, conduct clash detection, and exploit BIM outputs for quantity take‑offs and constructability.
• Track design changes, perform value engineering, and propose cost‑effective alternatives.
• Integrate design with site execution, ensuring constructability and timely issue resolution.
• Prepare design progress reports and lead technical coordination meetings with stakeholders.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
• 12–15 years of experience in design/project office roles on large‑scale superstructure projects (e.g., hotels, malls, hospitals).
• Proven experience managing outsourced design teams and interdisciplinary coordination.
• Strong understanding of contract requirements, budgeting, and scheduling.
