Field Representative – Libya

About the role

The Field Representative based in Tripoli will support the Islamic Development Bank’s operations in Libya, ensuring effective office functioning and coordinating the implementation of IsDB‑financed projects. Reporting to the Country Operations Manager (COM) at the Regional Hub of Rabat, the role involves close interaction with government bodies, executing agencies, and development partners.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to developing the project pipeline and annual work programme.
• Liaise with Libyan government officials on issues related to ongoing IsDB‑financed projects.
• Assist the Bank and executing agencies in resolving implementation challenges, in consultation with the COM.
• Facilitate IsDB Group missions to Libya and conduct field visits to monitor project progress.
• Follow up on financing agreements, prepare implementation assessment reports, and compile project completion reports.
• Represent the Bank in meetings with technical and financial partners and explore co‑financing opportunities.
• Prepare monthly performance reports and disseminate IsDB guidelines and policies to stakeholders.
• Share knowledge and best practices with colleagues and partners across the region.

Required profile

• Experience in coordinating development projects and interacting with government and donor agencies.
• Ability to prepare analytical reports and monitor project implementation.
• Strong communication skills for liaising with multiple stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel frequently within Libya for site visits.
