Finance Assistant

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council is seeking a Finance Assistant to support the day‑to‑day financial operations of its Libya programme. You will ensure that all financial transactions are processed accurately, recorded promptly, and comply with both DRC policies and national regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Process bank and cash payments in line with DRC forms and national law, verifying supporting documentation and authorisations.
• Prepare and monitor bank payments, maintain sufficient cash balances, and update cashbooks daily across all currencies.
• Manage petty cash, clear cash advances, and support monthly payroll review and disbursement.
• Maintain the general ledger, perform month‑end closures, and conduct monthly cash and bank reconciliations.
• Ensure vendor and staff payments are timely, properly documented, and tax‑compliant.
• File and archive financial documents (hard and soft copies) and scan records into DRC Dynamics.
• Oversee data quality in the DRC Dynamics Finance Module and keep master data up to date.
• Manage digital finance spaces such as SharePoint and support digitalisation initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar finance role.
• Strong written, mathematical, and computer skills.
• Experience handling cash and working with UN agencies or NGOs.
• Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with DRC Dynamics (Finance Module).
• Experience using SharePoint for document management.
