Geoscientist – Advanced Seismic Interpretation

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Geoscientist with deep expertise in advanced seismic interpretation to support our clients in Libya. The successful candidate will use DecisionSpace Geosciences to deliver high‑quality subsurface models, prospect evaluations, and technical reports.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret 2D/3D seismic data using DecisionSpace Geosciences, focusing on horizon and fault picking, attribute extraction, and seismic‑to‑well tie.
• Conduct structural and stratigraphic interpretation, including sequence stratigraphy, to define plays and prospects.
• Integrate seismic data with well logs, core, and petrophysical information for comprehensive subsurface models.
• Perform time‑depth conversion and quality control of spatial data across different coordinate reference systems.
• Collaborate with geologists, petrophysicists, and reservoir engineers to improve workflow and decision‑making.
• Prepare professional reports, maps, cross‑sections, and presentations for stakeholders.
• Mentor team members and clients, transferring knowledge in seismic interpretation techniques.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Geophysics, Geology or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in exploration and development geophysics.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication abilities.

Required skills

• DecisionSpace Geosciences (DSG) – advanced proficiency.
• Familiarity with GeoFrame, Petrel and OpenWorks.
• Experience with seismic attribute extraction, structural and stratigraphic analysis.
• Knowledge of well‑log, core and petrophysical data integration.
• Understanding of Coordinate Reference Systems (CRS), projections and spatial data QC.
