Lead Backend Architect / CTO

About the role

Moeen is building a smart mobility and logistics platform in Libya and needs a hands‑on technical leader to own the backend architecture as the product scales. You will guide a small engineering team while staying deeply involved in code and production issues.

Key responsibilities

• Design, evolve, and maintain a scalable backend architecture.
• Develop and optimise real‑time systems such as dispatching, live tracking and high‑concurrency services.
• Lead a focused engineering team, setting technical direction and standards.
• Own system performance, reliability, and overall technical roadmap.
• Diagnose and resolve production‑level challenges.

Required profile

• Proven experience building and scaling production systems.
• Strong backend and system design expertise.
• Experience with real‑time or high‑load applications.
• Familiarity with modern backend stacks (Node.js, Laravel or similar).
• Understanding of WebSockets, message queues and distributed systems is a plus.
• Hands‑on attitude, not just managerial.
