Mechanical Engineer

About the role

QP is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, coordinate, supervise and certify mechanical building services systems from concept through construction. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, contractors and clients to ensure integrated, high‑quality solutions that meet our sustainability and innovation standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and supervise installation of HVAC, ventilation, public health, water supply, sanitation and fire protection systems for new and existing developments.
• Lead mechanical design packages from concept, scheme and detailed design through construction, coordinating with electrical and other building services disciplines.
• Undertake PMC activities such as peer reviews, QA/QC reviews, technical assessments and site supervision.
• Carry out testing, commissioning and certification of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with design intent, specifications and standards.
• Monitor on‑site works for compliance with contract documents, legislation, health & safety and professional standards.
• Prepare complete as‑built documentation prior to project handover.
• Support commercial aspects including payment applications, variations and claims.
• Monitor system performance, define maintenance procedures and integrate new technologies.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience delivering building services engineering design on complex, multi‑sector projects.
• Proven ability to manage design commissions, coordinate scopes and control project finances.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; BIM experience and familiarity with Revit, HAP and IES are advantageous.
• Experience contributing to QA/QC processes, peer reviews, site supervision and system certification.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail.
