Quantity Surveyor – MEP (Benghazi)

About the role

QP is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor specialised in Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) systems to join its Benghazi office. The role will oversee commercial and contractual aspects of projects from tender through to final account, ensuring robust cost control and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, Bills of Quantities and tender documents with a focus on MEP systems.
• Conduct tender evaluations, support procurement, vet contractors and advise on procurement strategies and cash‑flow planning.
• Measure, value and assess variations, interim valuations and payment certifications, ensuring accuracy and contractual compliance.
• Manage subcontractor valuations and assist in negotiating final accounts.
• Draft, administer and monitor contracts, including FIDIC‑based forms.
• Liaise with the project team to produce tender reports, commercial updates and client recommendations.

Required profile

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or Building Services Engineering (QS specialisation preferred).
• Several years of experience delivering MEP quantity surveying services on residential, commercial, hospitality or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, valuation processes and cost‑control principles.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities within multidisciplinary teams.
• Detail‑oriented analytical mindset with the capacity to meet deadlines under pressure.
• Fluent written and verbal English.
