Solar PV Installation Technician

About the role

The Solar PV Installation Technician will install, commission, and maintain solar photovoltaic systems according to approved engineering drawings, technical specifications, and health‑and‑safety standards. You will ensure high‑quality installations, safe fieldwork, accurate testing, and reliable system performance on both rooftop and ground‑mounted projects.

Key responsibilities

• Install PV mounting structures, panels, inverters, batteries, combiner boxes, protection panels and circuit breakers.
• Perform DC and AC cable routing, wiring, termination, grounding and lightning‑protection works.
• Carry out electrical inspections, pre‑commissioning checks, voltage, current and continuity measurements.
• Participate in system commissioning, start‑up activities and verify performance against design specifications.
• Conduct preventive and scheduled maintenance, diagnose faults and replace defective components.
• Clean modules, maintain tools and equipment, and follow HSE procedures with proper PPE.
• Prepare daily progress, maintenance and material reports for the supervisor.

Required profile

• Diploma or Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Renewable Energy or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience installing solar PV systems (On‑Grid, Off‑Grid, Hybrid).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Physically fit for outdoor and elevated work, with strong attention to detail and teamwork.
