Movement Control Assistant – Airport Immigration Support

About the role

The Movement Control Assistant will support airport immigration and customs processes for UN personnel and authorized travelers in Tripoli. This consultant position ensures compliance with UN, aviation, immigration, customs and security regulations while delivering high‑quality passenger service.

Key responsibilities

• Verify and prepare flight documents, passenger manifests, boarding passes, visas and other travel paperwork.
• Coordinate with immigration officers, customs officials and airport staff to streamline traveler processing.
• Perform passenger check‑in, baggage weighing, and cargo documentation against manifests.
• Use scanning systems and databases to validate documents and track movements.
• Maintain accurate records, compile incident reports and submit weekly performance summaries.
• Provide customer service, answer queries and assist travelers during emergencies or irregularities.
• Supervise or coordinate aircraft loaders/contractors when required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (higher education reduces required experience).
• Minimum three years of progressive experience in movement control, transport, logistics or related administration (one year if holding a university degree).
• Demonstrated ability to work with airport authorities, immigration and customs officials.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify document discrepancies.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
