Senior Reintegration Associate – Protection

About the role

The Senior Reintegration Associate (Protection) will be based in Tripoli and will support IOM’s Voluntary Humanitarian Return (VHR) programme. The role focuses on delivering protection and reintegration services to migrants, internally displaced persons, returnees and host communities, while strengthening national capacities in migration governance and humanitarian assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate protection interventions and case management for vulnerable individuals.
• Manage VHR cases from departure to safe return, ensuring compliance with IOM standards.
• Liaise with government authorities, UN agencies, donors and civil‑society partners to align programme activities.
• Monitor, analyse and report on protection trends, displacement tracking and programme outcomes.
• Provide psychosocial support and facilitate access to health, mental health and social services.
• Contribute to capacity‑building initiatives for national stakeholders on protection and migration governance.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in migration, humanitarian assistance, social sciences or a related field.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in protection, reintegration or humanitarian programmes, preferably in Libya or similar contexts.
• Strong knowledge of migration governance, border management and international protection standards.
• Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and spoken.
• Demonstrated ability to work in challenging and insecure environments.
