Subsurface Manager

About the role

The Subsurface Manager will lead all petroleum engineering and subsurface functions for the asset, ensuring optimal reserves development, efficient production, and maximised hydrocarbon recovery. This senior position requires strong technical leadership and the ability to work in a challenging, remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee reservoir engineering, production engineering, geology and geophysics activities.
• Supervise subsurface characterisation, modelling and asset evaluation.
• Act as the technical authority for subsurface disciplines and provide guidance for drilling, completions and feasibility studies.
• Integrate subsurface data to optimise field development plans and recovery strategies.
• Support well planning and execution aligned with reservoir objectives.
• Monitor reservoir performance and recommend optimisation measures.
• Collaborate with drilling, facilities and operations teams for integrated asset management.
• Review and validate technical studies, simulations and development scenarios.
• Ensure compliance with company standards, HSE policies and Libyan regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geology, Geophysics or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 10–15 years of experience in subsurface or petroleum engineering roles.
• Proven experience in reservoir management, field development and production optimisation.
• Leadership or managerial experience.
• Willingness to work in remote or field locations, including rotational schedules.
• Understanding of regional operational and cultural environment is an advantage.
