Creative Writer (Remote, Contract)

About the role

We are seeking a visionary Creative Writer to become the voice of our brand. Working remotely, you will blend emotional storytelling with strategic marketing goals to produce high‑conversion copy, scripts, and immersive blog posts that resonate with our audience across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a consistent brand voice across website, email, social media, and newsletters.
• Create long‑form and short‑form content such as blogs, articles, whitepapers, and ad copy.
• Conceptualize and script audio‑visual content for podcasts, YouTube, TikTok, and Meta ads.
• Research cultural trends in Africa and optimise content for SEO to boost organic reach.
• Collaborate with remote design and video teams to align written and visual assets.

Required profile

• Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Creative Writing or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of professional creative writing, copywriting, or content creation.
• Strong portfolio showcasing brand storytelling and scriptwriting.
• Deep understanding of African socioeconomic and pop‑culture contexts.
• Exceptional command of English with flawless grammar and proofreading.
• Self‑driven, highly organised and able to meet strict deadlines independently.

Required skills

• Experience with CMS platforms, especially WordPress.
• Proficiency in digital collaboration tools such as Slack and Google Workspace.
• Knowledge of SEO best practices for content optimisation.
