Design Office Manager – Libya Project

About the role
We are seeking a Design Office Manager for a large-scale, high-standard superstructure project in Libya. The role will lead the end-to-end design process, coordinate interdisciplinary teams and manage outsourced design consultants to deliver the project on time, within budget and to contract specifications.
Key responsibilities
- Overall management of all design activities (architectural, structural, MEP, etc.) and performance monitoring of outsourced design consultants.
- Ensure interdisciplinary coordination, resolve clashes and guarantee constructibility of design outputs.
- Plan, review and approve shop drawings, including in-house preparation and as-built documentation.
- Manage material submittal processes, verify technical compliance and coordinate approvals with employer and consultants.
- Oversee BIM implementation, clash detection and utilisation of BIM outputs for quantity take-offs and shop drawings.
- Track design changes, conduct value engineering studies and propose cost-effective alternatives.
- Integrate design with site execution, incorporate feedback from construction teams and provide timely solutions.
- Prepare design progress reports and lead technical coordination meetings with stakeholders.
Required profile
- Degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
- 12–15 years of experience in design/project office roles on large-scale superstructure projects such as hotels, malls, hospitals or mixed-use developments.
- Proven experience managing outsourced design teams and interdisciplinary coordination.
- Strong knowledge of shop-drawing processes and construction documentation.
