Excel Specialist – Remote Data Operations

About the role

We are looking for an analytical Excel Specialist to lead data operations across Africa. Working remotely, you will transform raw data into actionable business intelligence for finance, marketing and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain complex, scalable Excel spreadsheets, pivot tables and interactive dashboards.
• Develop and maintain VBA scripts and macros to automate data entry, extraction and report generation.
• Clean, validate and merge large datasets from multiple sources using Power Query and advanced lookup formulas.
• Create dynamic forecasting, budgeting and performance‑tracking models for senior management.
• Audit existing Excel files, troubleshoot formula errors and ensure 100 % data integrity.
• Translate technical insights into visual formats and train cross‑functional remote teams on reporting templates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in data analysis, spreadsheet management or financial modelling.
• Expert‑level mastery of Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Pivot Tables, Power Pivot and Power Query.
• Proven ability to write VBA macros and custom scripts.
• Strong problem‑solving, attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience working independently in a remote environment across African time zones.
