Field Representative – Libya

About the role

The Field Representative will be based in Tripoli and will support the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) operations in Libya. Reporting to the Country Operations Manager (COM) at the Regional Hub of Rabat, the role ensures effective functioning of the field office and coordinates the implementation of IsDB‑financed projects.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of the project pipeline and annual work programme.
• Liaise with Libyan government authorities on follow‑up issues for ongoing IsDB projects.
• Assist the Bank and Executing Agencies in resolving implementation problems, in consultation with the COM.
• Facilitate IsDB Group missions to Libya and conduct field visits to monitor project progress.
• Follow up on the signing and effectiveness of project financing agreements.
• Visit project sites, especially those with implementation challenges, and prepare assessment and completion reports.
• Interact with Executing Agencies and local partners to identify new business opportunities.
• Represent the Bank in meetings with technical and financial partners.
• Prepare monthly reports on portfolio performance and on political, economic, and social developments.

Required profile

• Under supervision of the COM, ability to coordinate with government bodies and development partners.
• Strong understanding of development project cycles and financing mechanisms.
• Willingness to travel frequently within Libya and to attend regional missions.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
