Information Extraction Specialist

About the role

The Information Extraction Specialist will design, build, and maintain pipelines that transform unstructured and semi‑structured data into structured, actionable datasets. Working remotely, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure high‑quality extraction across diverse domains such as legal, medical, financial, and technical documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement end‑to‑end information extraction pipelines for various document types.
• Create and manage high‑quality training datasets, define sampling strategies, and lead annotation teams.
• Evaluate model performance using precision, recall, F1 and conduct error analysis to drive continuous improvement.
• Assess, integrate, and customize open‑source and commercial extraction tools.
• Develop automation scripts and workflows to streamline the extraction process.
• Adapt extraction systems to new domains, rapidly acquiring domain knowledge and updating guidelines.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in information extraction, NLP, or computational linguistics.
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis and NLP tasks.
• Experience designing annotation schemas and clear extraction guidelines.
• Strong understanding of evaluation metrics (precision, recall, F1) and error analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
