Lead Master Facilitator and Lead Mentor

About the role

The British Council is seeking a Lead Master Facilitator and Lead Mentor to drive the Youth Connect Programme in Libya. This specialist contractor will guide young participants through a nine‑month journey of skills development, community‑led research, and collective action.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver facilitation workshops that build leadership, decision‑making and civic engagement skills.
• Mentor individual youth participants and peer mentors throughout the programme.
• Support the identification of local challenges, research activities and the co‑creation of solutions.
• Collaborate with civil society organisations, national entities and other stakeholders to ensure programme relevance and sustainability.
• Oversee the implementation of Collective Action Projects (CAPs) and monitor their impact.

Required profile

• Proven experience in youth programme facilitation, mentorship or community development.
• Strong understanding of participatory methods and capacity‑building approaches.
• Excellent communication and intercultural skills, with ability to work in diverse settings.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multi‑stakeholder collaborations.
