NGO Coordination and Analysis Officer (Consultancy)

About the role

The United Nations is seeking a qualified consultant to strengthen the participation of NGOs in development forums and to provide timely contextual analysis for decision‑making in Libya. Over a two‑month period, the consultant will design engagement mechanisms and establish an analysis group that delivers regular insights on political, security, social, and economic trends.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement formal channels and standard operating procedures for NGOs to engage with UN‑coordinated development fora, Libyan authorities, and international partners.
• Set up and lead a Context Analysis Group that produces periodic analytical briefs integrating multi‑sectoral trends.
• Coordinate with UN Country Team (UNCT) and relevant stakeholders to ensure analysis informs strategic planning.
• Deliver final reports and recommendations within the two‑month contract.

Required profile

• Proven experience in NGO coordination, development cooperation, or UN‑related consultancy.
• Strong understanding of the Libyan political, security, social, and economic environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
