Payroll Specialist – Full‑Time in Tripoli

About the role

Presto, Libya’s leading food and grocery delivery platform, is looking for a Payroll Specialist to join its HR team in Tripoli. You will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with local labor regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and review employee attendance, timesheets, and working‑hour data.
• Process payroll calculations, including overtime, deductions, allowances, bonuses and incentives.
• Prepare payroll reports and obtain final approvals before payment.
• Execute salary payments via electronic systems or payroll checks.
• Maintain confidential payroll records and update wage data, salary adjustments, and related changes.
• Calculate taxes and legal deductions in line with company policies and Libyan labor law.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding salaries and payroll matters.
• Produce periodic payroll reports for finance management and senior leadership.
• Coordinate employee wallet funding and cash‑transfer processes to ensure timely salary distribution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field (high‑school diploma with relevant experience also considered).
• Previous experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar payroll/ accounting role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and payroll best practices.
• Good knowledge of Libyan labor laws and payroll regulations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to operate payroll systems and database software.
• High attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.
• Basic mathematical skills for payroll calculations and validation.
