Payroll Specialist – Full‑Time (Tripoli)

About the role

The Payroll Specialist will ensure that all employee attendance records are accurately captured and that payroll is processed on time and in compliance with Libyan labor regulations. Working closely with the HR and Finance teams, you will be the point of contact for payroll‑related queries and will help maintain the confidentiality of payroll data.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and verify employee attendance, timesheets and working‑hour data.
• Calculate regular wages, overtime, deductions, allowances, bonuses and incentives.
• Prepare and review payroll reports before final approval.
• Execute salary payments via electronic systems or checks.
• Maintain confidential payroll records and update wage information.
• Calculate taxes and statutory deductions in line with company policy and local law.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and resolve discrepancies.
• Produce periodic payroll reports for finance management and senior leadership.
• Coordinate payroll reconciliations and support financial settlement reporting.

Required profile

• Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field (or high‑school diploma with relevant experience).
• Previous experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar payroll/HR role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and Libyan labor regulations.
• High attention to detail, confidentiality and organizational skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using payroll systems and database software.
• Basic mathematical skills for payroll calculations.
