Protection Team Leader – Child Protection

About the role

The Protection Team Leader – Child Protection will oversee the delivery of Danish Refugee Council’s comprehensive child protection programme in Tripoli. Reporting to the Program Manager, the role ensures high‑quality implementation of child‑friendly spaces, case management and school‑based interventions while leading a team of eleven protection staff.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and mentor one Child Protection Officer and ten Protection Assistants, including recruitment, performance appraisal and professional development.
• Ensure compliance with DRC’s SOPs, Code of Conduct and on‑boarding/off‑boarding procedures.
• Provide technical supervision and quality control for case management, child‑friendly spaces and community‑based mechanisms.
• Conduct field visits, coach staff on CP standards and co‑facilitate trainings with the Protection Specialist.
• Coordinate workload distribution, leave planning and field presence to guarantee efficient programme delivery.
• Support monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEAL) activities and contribute to reporting under the guidance of the Program Manager.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading a protection team in humanitarian settings.
• Strong knowledge of child protection concepts, minimum standards and case management processes.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise staff, deliver trainings and ensure technical fidelity.
• Excellent communication, teamwork and problem‑solving skills.
• Willingness to work onsite in Tripoli and adapt to a challenging environment.
